Synopsis

This is an essay manga in which Nekojiru and Yamano Hajime, who visited foreign countries in Asia, surrealistically depict the indigenous everyday scenes and mystical religious views of India and Nepal from their unique perspectives. The "India Edition" depicts the couple's wanderings around Varanasi, India from February to March 1995, and frequently features drugs that are illegal in Japan, such as ganja. It was first serialized in Bukansha's Manga Gaudi (まんがガウディ), from the January 1996 issue to the February 1997 issue (its final issue), and after Manga Gaudi ceased publication, it was transferred to its successor, Manga Aloha!, where it ran from the July 1997 issue to the November 1997 issue. In February 1998, Bunkasha published it as a book titled Jirujiru Travelogue: India Edition, and in 2001 Seirindo published Jirujiru Travelogue: Anthology, which also includes the unfinished "Nepal Edition" that was serialized in Manga Aloha!.
